Risk Planning
Planning for significant, possibly franchise-threatening events is crucial to a successful risk management program. Planning is as important as assessing and transferring the risk in the first place. Statistically, 93 percent of businesses without emergency plans fail within five years following a major catastrophic loss event. Success is highly dependent upon how well the organization has planned to handle these occurrences in the minutes, hours, weeks and months that follow the initial event. In fact, in addition to regulatory requirements for certain risk planning programs, significant risk transfer benefits may be gained by those enterprises that effectively plan, validate and test their emergency response and business continuity programs.
ABS Consulting's Hazard Research and Planning Solutions (HaRPS) Group provides a wide range of emergency management related services to our clients. The HaRPS staff has direct field experience in emergency management operations from the initial response, through recovery, into the mitigation phase and long-term sustainable community planning.
HaRPS personnel have over 50 years of combined experience in the field of emergency management; several are certified emergency management trainers and have been instructors at the Emergency Management Institute in Emmittsburg, Maryland.
Our risk planning units are staffed with experts who are focused on developing and implementing emergency response programs, business continuity plans, communications/media programs, training and certification and auditing of such efforts.
