Risk Assessment
Risk identification and assessment is typically the first stage in any risk management process, and crucial to optimizing an overall risk strategy for a corporation with significant assets to protect. ABS Consulting is well known for its expertise in evaluating extreme risk from natural and man-made hazards including earthquake, hurricane, flood, fire, blast and others. We also have capabilities in assessing and quantifying risk stemming from a variety of operational and business continuity exposures in the various industry segments that we have served for over 20 years.
Our services are delivered through a combination of consultant expertise in subject matter areas and utilization of modeling and simulation technology, which supports risk assessment and quantification for deterministic or probabilistic approaches. Methodology applications depend upon the system being analyzed and the end result required. Many of these tools are unique and only available through ABS Consulting.
Information generated from a risk assessment is used to assist clients in developing short and long-term risk reduction strategies, and to support financial decisions on financing and transferring risk in the traditional and alternative markets. These strategies range from operational changes to business continuity planning (including mutual aid pacts) to improved supply chain systems to improved emergency response and business recovery planning—all capabilities found within the expertise of ABS Consulting. Risk assessment provides the motivating force for the other strategic elements: Risk Transfer, Risk Mitigation and Risk Planning.
ABS Consulting provides a comprehensive array of high level, risk identification and consequence analysis capabilities for the energy, process, manufacturing, transportation, marine, power generation and other related industries. Our services include supporting our clients in the following areas of expertise :
